About the Journal
Journal of BioScience and Biotechnology is an open access interdisciplinary journal that publishes original articles and invited reviews in all biology fields. The journal originally entitled «Travaux Scientifiques Universite de Plovdiv – Biologie» was founded in 1963 and continued until 1994 when it was split into four parts: Trav. Sci. Univ. Plovdiv – Animalia, Trav. Sci. Univ. Plovdiv – Homo, Trav. Sci. Univ. Plovdiv – Microbiologia et Cytologia, and Trav. Sci. Univ. Plovdiv – Plantarum. From January 2012, the four multilanguage journal parts were merged and the journal name was changed to Journal of BioScience and Biotechnology, which is an entirely English-language journal focused on the interdisciplinary areas of biology.

All articles published by Journal of BioScience and Biotechnology are freely and permanently available for downloading and read for anyone with access to the internet, without subscription charges or registration barriers. Authors retain the copyright of their articles and are free to reproduce and disseminate their work.
The Journal welcomes the submission of manuscripts that meet the general criteria of significance and scientific excellence in the diverse fields of biology. Submitted manuscripts will be evaluated by at least two independent reviewers who are either members of the Editorial Board or ad hoc referees. Accepted manuscripts will be available online as PDF files immediately upon their acceptance for publication. Journal of BioScience and Biotechnology is published 3 times a year (one volume with three printed issues annually). There is no publication fee for the authors.
